“LIAR, LIAR…PANTS ON FIRE…”
So much to write about, so little time. One thing you have to say about old George W. Bush was the fact that he only gave us one or two things to discuss every couple of weeks. Not so with the current Obamathon, the hits just keep on coming in hour by hour., moment by moment. Hardly a day goes by without some new revelation being thrown to us before we have had a moment to absorb the previous diatribe from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. If you can’t find something to dislike about the way this administration is attempting to run this country and our lives, then you’re probably dead and just don’t know it. Check your pulse.
First let me bring to your attention the creation of several new legislative committees designed to help us through the current financial crisis. The acronyms give us some idea of our legislators intentions.
Senate-House Allied For Taxpayers (SHAFT)
Select Committee Responsible Enablement Workforces (SCREW)
House Actively Taxing Everything (HATE)
The last one is the favorite of Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, who goes by the abbreviation of SOTH….(speaker of the house) which she favors since the letters can be rearranged to spell…HOTS….No one can explain her fascination with this term since it cannot possibly be attributed to her looks…perhaps it’s her undying adoration for the current occupant of the White House? Who knows? Who cares?
During World War II, the Office Of Strategic Services, the forerunner to today’s CIA produced this psychological profile of Adolf Hitler… “His primary rules were: never allow the public to cool off; never admit a fault or wrong; never concede that there may be some good in your enemy; never leave room for alternatives; never accept blame; concentrate on one enemy at a time and blame him for everything that goes wrong; people will believe a big lie sooner than a little one; and if you repeat it frequently enough people will sooner or later believe it.” This was known as ‘the big lie’.
I ask you to look over the above profile and tell me what player on the political stage of today comes to your mind. I thought so. The internet is rife with lists of lies and broken promises made by the current occupant living in the White House. I wonder if the toilet backs up in the Lincoln bedroom, does Obama think George W. caused it to overflow. You only have to use your computer to look the lies and broken promises to see for yourself. How they can issue these statements with a straight face and without laughing is beyond me. We can hardly keep up with them all since they’re dispensed so fast and furious. Of course the broken promises are not being reported by the traditional media who has yet to see that the emperor they adore is standing in front of all us completely naked. It’s small wonder that newspapers as well as news programs are losing revenues and getting into financial difficulty the more they attempt to sugar coat the truth from the rest of us.
But then you know this or you wouldn’t be reading these words in the first place. The problem for those of us not wearing blinders is what methods do we use to convince those still sipping the Kool-Aid of the day to save themselves from total destruction? Waterboarding is out as well as other non-lethal forms of persuasion, but what is permissible?
Well, if you want my opinion …it’s to keep on going and continue doing what we have been doing….write, call, fax, e-mail, text, speak out at meetings and most of all vote for those who believe as we do, not the professionals living within the beltway. The events of the recent weeks should give us hope as well as strengthen our hearts that the American public is not ready and willing to swallow the big lie. We are not robots, we are not idiots, we are not mindless, we are Americans who can see the truth and who know when we are being lied to. The empty promises spoken to this country during last years election are now starting to rot in the fields of so called … ‘hope and change’. During his campaign Barack Obama made a statement in one of his speeches using the phrase … “Words, just words…”
Sorry, Charlie but this is starting to wear thin. Americans know that actions speak louder than words…..so far all we have seen are words coming out of the mouth of a person desiring to be a potential rock star or an anchor man on the six o’clock news. Come to think of it the anchor man position should be an easy jump for the great one as he is very experienced with reading from a teleprompter. A rock star requires memory work so that leaves him out.
